Canadiens Crush Lakers

The Wallaceburg Lakers fell 8-2 against the Lakeshore Canadiens in Junior C hockey action.

During the game on Friday, the Lakers had the game tied 1-1 with just under eight minutes left in the first period. However, Lakershore came back with two more goals to take the lead going into the second. The Canadiens scored another five goals in the remaining two periods over one from Wallaceburg, to win with a six goal advantage.

Nick Tavolieri-Essex and Sebastian Kanally both scored two goals for Lakeshore. Nick Goran, Cameron MacDougall,Mejoe Gasparovic, and Luke Sanko each scored once. Jeff Brown and Jackson Gray scored one goal each for Wallaceburg.

The Lakers will take on the Essex 73's on Wednesday at 7:30pm.  And next Friday, the Canadiens will face off against the Dresden Jr. Kings.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
