The Chatham Maroons are now riding a five game winning streak after a 3-0 win over the Strathroy Rockets.

After neither team scored in the first period, the Maroons scored their first unanswered goal in the second. Chatham scored two more in the third to complete their shutout win.

Maroons forward Steven Beenackers says as the season starts to wrap up, his team has been bearing down as they fight to get into the playoffs.

"We're really trying to fight for that second spot -- give us a better spot to sit at the start of the playoffs," he says. "We know we've got to be sharp every night and we were really impressed with the way our line played, and the whole team."

The Maroons face off against the London Nationals on Sunday at 7pm.
