Seven Days For Impaired Driving

A Chatham man has lost his licence for a week after police say he was impaired behind the wheel.

An officer observed an eastbound car on Park Ave. come to a stop at Hwy. 40, reverse, and then proceed southbound on Hwy. 40. Provincial police stopped the vehicle and while talking with the driver, the officer detected the smell of alcohol.

The 38-year-old driver blew within the warn range of 0.05-0.08% blood-alcohol content for the second time within the last five years, which resulted in the seven-day suspension. The driver must also enter a remedial alcohol treatment program.

The Chatham man has also been charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
