Moving Proposed Condo Forward

Leamington Council doesn't have all necessary reports, but is allowing Piroli Construction to move forward on a proposed new condo building west of Cherry Lane near Seacliff Dr.

"We still have to have approval of site plan agreements, all that kind of stuff, [but] I mean if we can shorten it up a little bit more, it makes it better for them in their building season," says Leamington Mayor John Paterson, who's confident the move by council will save the developer about a month in time.

Paterson says there weren't significant concerns from administration to justify holding up the process while waiting on the necessary reports. "All I've seen is some of the drawings," says Paterson. "I was very happy to hear that the open house that [the developer] had, which they didn't have to do, but they did at the Roma Club; the people that came out spoke in favour of it. I'm thrilled by that."

There are four reports outstanding: the Traffic Study, the Planning Justification Report, the Preliminary Servicing Report and the Draft Reference Plans.
