Tickets Issued During Parking Ban

Only a handful of motorists are being punished for leaving their vehicles on the road during Chatham-Kent's recent on-street parking ban.

Public Works Director Miguel Pelletier says they tried to give people a good opportunity to move their vehicle before taking further action.

"The latest report I have is that we issued four citations and if we did tow any vehicles, it was probably not very many," says Pelletier. "We don't want to issue tickets just for the sake of issuing tickets or tow cars for the sake of towing cars."

The parking ban went into effect late Sunday during the snowstorm and expired at 4pm Wednesday afternoon.
