A Chatham man is gearing up to release his debut novel
"One Night In Mississippi" by Craig Shreve hits store shelves on February 28.
Shreve says the book is about Warren Williams, whose brother is lynched and killed in the 60's in Mississippi.
"The men that are responsible are caught but they're released without any punishment and that really haunts him for a long time," says Shreve. "Decades later some of these civil rights era cases start to get reopened and he has the opportunity to confront one of the men that was involved."
A book release party is being held at the Chatham Cultural Centre on Saturday, February 28 from 7pm-9pm. Shreve will read a passage from the book and hold a Q&A.
