Final Stretch For Lakeshore's Budget

Lakeshore's 2015 budget could be approved tonight.

Mayor Tom Bain says councillors cut $20,000 from the budget on Monday to bring the tax increase to just under 6%. While many residents would love the budget to include a tax freeze, Bain doesn't see it happening.

"I certainly would like to see [a 0%] too, but I know we've got infrastructure needs in the area of roads, sidewalks, things we've let slide the last couple years," says Bain. "I certainly hope we're able to cut it a percent or two at least."

Councillors will go over the budget again after tonight's council meeting set for 6pm.

Tecumseh Town Council is expected to approve a 0.8% increase for its 2015 budget tonight.
