Junior A Hockey In Kingsville

Kingsville is getting a Junior A hockey team.

Kingsville Council approved a five-year contract with the team on Monday night to use the local arena that will see the town bring in $31,000 a year in revenue.

Councillor Tony Gaffan is thrilled to see a replacement for the former Junior C Kingsville Comets.

"Very excited to have a junior team back in town. Very excited for them to get involved in the community. It seems to be a win-win situation for the future of hockey in Kingsville," says Gaffan.

The team is a new addition to the Greater Metro Junior Hockey A League and is set to start playing out of the Kingsville Arena in September. The arena won't need any new improvements by the town in order for the team to play.
