First Appearance For Kaake's Accused

The 26-year-old man, suspected of killing Cassandra Kaake, will have to wait at least another week for his bail hearing.

Matthew Brush appeared in court by video this morning, but his defence lawyer Ken Golish had the matter pushed to February 18, as they wait for disclosure of evidence. "The Crown Attorney, in conjunction with the (Windsor) police, will prepare a brief of all of the evidence; which will include all of the reports and witness statements. I expect it's going to be quite extensive, as I'm told they're still investigating."

Golish would not comment on how his client's feeling or whether Brush intends to plead guilty or not.

He expects it could be several weeks before he gets full disclosure.
