OPP Makes Heroin Highway Arrest

Chatham-Kent OPP has laid charges against two people after finding suspected heroin inside their vehicle.

Police say the vehicle was pulled over for speeding down Hwy. 401 near Dillon Side Rd. on Monday just after 11am. Officers searched the car and found a small amount of suspected heroin.

The 35-year-old male passenger put up a brief struggle during the arrest and has been charged with possession of heroin and resisting arrest.

The 31-year-old female driver from Calgary has been charged with possession of heroin and speeding.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
