Cold Riding For Friday The 13th

It doesn't matter how cold it is - some die hard motorcyclists will ride to Port Dover to mark Friday the 13th today.

Norfolk OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk says other drivers aren't used to seeing bikes on the road at this time of year, and need to check their blind spots and take a little more time changing lanes. No roads will be blocked in Dover unless the size of the crowd warrants it, but Sanchuk says visitors can expect a small police presence.

Sanchuk also has words of caution for bike riders who may not be used to driving on snow-covered roads. He says distracted driving is a big problem for all drivers, including those on motorcycles.

There won't be another summertime Friday the 13th until June 2018.
