Flyers Snap Maroons' Winning Streak

The Leamington Flyers snapped the Chatham Maroons' ten-game winning streak after a 5-2 victory Thursday night.

The Flyers started off with a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period, and the Maroons scored two in the second to almost tie the game. However, Leamington won the game after scoring again at the end of the second frame and then once more in the final 20 minutes.

Zack Guilbeault and Chris Scott led Leamington with two goals each, while Ryan Shipley scored one.

Connor Annett and Steven Beenackers scored one each for Chatham.

The Flyers are back on Friday at 7:30pm to take on the St. Thomas Stars, and then the Maroons will face off against the Lambton Shores Predators on Saturday at 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
