Extreme Cold Warning Continues

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for all of southwestern Ontario.

A snow squall warning has also been issued for London-Middlesex. The snow squalls are expected to significantly affect travel on all routes, including highways 401 and 402. The squalls will slowly diminish by Sunday evening

A blowing snow advisory has ended for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex. But Environment Canada Severe Weather Meteorologist Ria Alsen says we won't see much relief this weekend.

"We're not recovering much during the day. [Sunday's] high about -16 C (3 F) so that's really cold for high temperatures. With the windchill values we're getting close to -30 C (-22 F) over the next couple days," she says.

Prolonged wind chills are expected, presenting the risk of hypothermia and frostbite.
