Police K9 Unit Helps Track Suspect

A Chatham man has been charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash in Dover Centre.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service says on Friday around 12:55am, officers attended a two-vehicle collision at Bear Line and Angler Rd., where the driver of one vehicle fled the scene.

A police K9 unit was used to search for a suspect, who was located a short time later at a friend's residence.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital for observation.

A 49-year-old Chatham man has now been charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
