Update: Police Investigate Murder On Bruce Avenue

A 26-year-old man is being charged with first degree murder and aggravated sexual assault, after the death of a woman in an apartment in the 400-block of Bruce Ave.

Police say Richard Scott Raymond is in custody.

At least six cruisers were called out to the apartment Monday night.

A 49-year-old woman with obvious trauma was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers arrested a suspect. The two knew each other and police are not looking for other suspects.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
