Firefighters got the call just after 6am and when they arrived, they found the shop was fully involved in flames.
Crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to other exposed buildings and saved an estimated $500,000 in property.
Investigators say the cause is likely electrical, but they're still looking into it.
Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
