Freezing Pipes Causing Problems

Entegrus is reminding residents to take proper precautions in avoiding frozen or burst pipes.

Director of Corporate Services Gary Simon says crews are ready to respond if needed.

"If a customer finds maybe a pipe has burst in the home and there's water, they're welcome to phone our office and we'll go out and shut that water off for them," says Simon. "Know where your water metre is. Know if you have any exposed pipe, you'll want to insulate them. Make sure any pipes that are exposed are drained."

Simon adds the problem pops up most winters, and with extremely cold temperatures hitting the region, the issue is hitting customers again in Chatham-Kent.
