Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

Chatham-Kent police have seized over $3,600 worth of marijuana after pulling a car over on Friday.

Police say an officer pulled over a car with four occupants near the corner of Queen St. and Park Ave. in Chatham.

There they saw two clear bags of what turned out to be marijuana in plain view. A further search of the car revealed a large amount of cash and other items indicative of drug trafficking were in the car.

A 23-year-old man now faces a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking and was held pending a bail hearing. Three other individuals face the same charge, but were released with a future court date.
