Local Elementary Schools Ranked

The report card is in and elementary schools across Chatham-Kent are now reviewing province-wide performance rankings by the Fraser Institute.

Scanning results from Chatham-Kent's public schools, Gregory Drive in Chatham scored an 8.4 out of 10.

McNaughton Ave. in Chatham was next at 7.3 followed by Indian Creek Road at 7.1, and Dresden Area Central received a 7.0.

Meantime, Our Lady of Fatima topped the area's Catholic Board elementary schools with a 6.7, followed by St. Elizabeth in Wallaceburg with a 6.4.

The Fraser Institute uses province-wide math and literacy test results from Grades 3 and 6 to form the rankings.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
