Student Leaders Headed To Guatemala

For 20 Chatham-Kent students, a trip to Guatemala means a lot more than getting out of the cold.

They're heading out on a leadership and philanthropy mission in conjunction with the YMCA.

VP Financial Development Mike Walters says this trip has been a year in the making. "Raising money, learning about philanthropy and the value of community service. Supporting community initiatives and of course taking on all kinds of community development training."

The three-week trip will see them help construct a multipurpose room at a rural school. The group will have its final meeting Tuesday night, and load onto the bus bound for Toronto on Thursday.
