Passport Service Starts In Chatham

Chatham now has its own passport office.

Local residents can now head to the Service Canada centre on Wellington St. W to file and pay for their passport, instead of making the trek to Windsor or London.

"Sometimes the weather is bad, or it's somewhat intimidating for some people as well," says Chatham-Kent-Essex MP Dave Van Kesteren. "The reason we started passport clinics was the accessibility, some people can't make the trek to Windsor or London."

Van Kesteren hosts occasional passport clinics in various communities and will continue that because he says some people need extra assistance.
