Family Reacts To Liquor Charges

The family of 18-year-old Emily Bernauer is pleased Amherstburg police have laid charges after a fatal accident.

Bernauer was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Concession Rd. 2 N in September.

The family's lawyer Gino Paciocoo, who didn't want to be recorded by BlackburnNews.com, says the family is devastated, but relieved they are getting "closer to the truth."

Paciocoo says he's disputing the Amherstburg police's statement that THC was a contributing factor. He says the coroner's statement only listed alcohol.

Paciocoo says the family hasn't launched a civil lawsuit, but won't say if that might be coming.
