Theatre Kent Needs New Location

Theatre Kent members are scrambling to find a place of their own after getting word a former portable classroom they have used for 25 years will no longer be available to them.

"We're trying to figure out which shows are going to be rehearsing where, we are looking at where we are going to store our costumes and props," says Theatre Kent President Karen Robinet. "Our main problem right now is where to store our set pieces because they are a bit larger than something somebody wants in their basement."

The building is on former municipal land and Theatre Kent had an agreement to use it when it was the site of Victoria Residence.

Robinet says getting another location may be impossible because of very tight budgets and says Theatre Kent doesn't receive any grant money.
