Doctor Recruitment Nets Another Physician

A new doctor is joining the Mental Health department at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Psychiatrist Dr. Anthony Anago moved to the community last month after spending the last few years practicing in Ireland. Dr. Anago says he started exploring the community in early 2014 after a physician friend in Windsor recommended the region.

Meantime, Chatham-Kent is receiving some positive reviews from some of its newest doctors. Chatham-Kent Council recently received an update on physician recruitment where Dr. Muhammed Afzal had nothing but good things to say.

"The community here is very welcoming and very friendly, I feel at home," says Afzal. "I came from the U.K. so it was a big step for me with the whole family but I'm glad my family, my children, they are happy here."

Dr. Afzal was one of nine new physicians to join the municipality in 2014.
