Man Charged With Luring

A Chatham man is facing charges in connection with a child luring investigation.

Police say through their investigation, they learned a local man was trying to lure a 14-year-old Chatham-Kent girl to meet with him for a sexual purpose.

Officers intercepted the man Tuesday afternoon as he was on his way to meet the girl. Police have also executed a search warrant at the man's residence and seized a desktop computer and a cell phone for analysis.

Michael Harris, 55, of Queen St. in Chatham is charged with luring and has been released with conditions and a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
