Windsor Jobless Numbers Increasing

For the second straight month, Windsor has the highest unemployment rate in the country and is widening the gap.

Jobless numbers for Windsor increased month-to-month from 9.4% to 9.6% in February. The next closest unemployment total of the cities surveyed comes from Saint John, New Brunswick, at 9.1%.

In nearby London, the jobless rate for February sits at 7%, which is a slight improvement from 7.2% in January.

Provincially, Ontario's unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.9%. Nationally, Canada's rate crept up from 6.6% in January to 6.8% in February as a result of a month-to-month net loss of 1,000 jobs.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
