Ice Fishing Coming To End

If you have an ice hut on area waterways this is the last weekend you can use it.

Ministry of Natural Resources acting area enforcement manager Duncan Hall says Sunday night is the end of the season for huts.

"Angler can use their hut on (Sunday) but they must remove it by 11:59pm," he says. "At the end of January, there were 1,800 ice hut registrations that had been made."

Hall also says the Pickerel season on the Thames River closes is of midnight Sunday and will remain closed for the next month.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
