Cancer Fundraiser Today

A cancer fundraiser hits the ice today in Chatham.

8-year-old Hunter Escott has organized a public skate at Thames Campus in honour of her cousin, who lost her battle with Leukemia in 2012.

"My cousin Shelby (Sullivan) passed away from cancer," says Escott, who will also be cutting her hair on Sunday to donate to Locks of Love. "I would really like to help a little girl or little boy."

The skate gets underway at 12pm, and Hunter will cut her hair at 1pm.

Everyone who donates will have their named entered into a draw for a chance to win a Ipad and a number of gift baskets donated by local businesses. For more details on the event or to donate, click here.
