Tilbury Fundraiser For Humane Society

After helping to rescue four malnourished dogs in Tilbury earlier this year, a group of good samaritans is helping the Windsor-Essex Humane Society too.

On Saturday, the Humane Society received a cheque for $5,050 to cover medical costs the centre faced while taking care of the dogs.

Karen Newman helped organize a Facebook auction to raise funds, and actually adopted one of the dogs herself. "Just knowing they were out there suffering, malnourished and with possible health issues, broke my heart. I wanted to help."

All four dogs are fully recovered and have also been adopted into new homes.
