Groups To Gather For Safety Plan

Chatham-Kent's Community Safety and Well Being Plan is taking shape.

They're starting to assemble community groups together to work out how to help residents avoid criminal or social crises. But Coordinator Marjorie crew says getting everyone to meet up on a regular basis will be one of the toughest tasks in organizing the plan.

Crew adds a crisis doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be arrested. "You may be on the verge of becoming homeless. You may be having truancy issues as a child and it could stem from something in the family. So it's about identifying a specific issue and addressing it."

Their meeting on March 25 will bring potential partners together to decide whether to handle situations on a case-by-case basis or meet regularly.
