$5M Leamington Medical Marijuana Expansion

Aphria is expanding its medical marijuana growing facilities in Leamington.

The company already has 22,000 sq. ft. of production space inside of a 450,000 sq. ft. greenhouse.

It now wants to spend $5-million on a two-phase project, which would see production space grow to 42,000 sq. ft., while another 88,000 sq. ft. of greenhouse space would be added.

The first phase is expected to be completed by August, while the time line for phase two is unclear.

Aphria officials say the expansion is necessary to meet anticipated demand.
