February Summary Confirms Records

The Environment Canada summary of February weather confirms it was one of the coldest ever.

Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says all of the southwest was affected.

"We saw records tumble for the coldest February ever in the London observation site, the Sarnia observation site and our site at Ridgetown as well," he says. "In the Windsor area they had the coldest February since 1885."

He says weather patterns set up a flow of Siberian air across the North Pole to come into the region and once those patterns are set up they are very hard to disrupt.
