Good Time To Sell

The president of the Chatham-Kent Real Estate Association is urging home owners to list their properties now if they're considering selling at all.

Jamie Winkler says with super low interest rates, home sales in the region have jumped.

"To see January this active and February this active, it's very unusual and you're probably going back pre-2008 to see this kind of activity and it's always nice when you start off the year with these numbers instead of playing catch up come March and April," says Winkler.

The Bank of Montreal came out this week with the lowest ever rate on a five-year fixed mortgage of 2.79%.

The Chatham-Kent Real Estate Association reports a 20% jump in home sales this February over last with 78 units sold while the average sale price was $145,987; a 16.6% jump from February 2014.
