Major Flooding Not Likely

It doesn't look like there will be any major flooding along the Thames or Sydenham rivers.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority says water levels across its watershed are beginning to stabilize. However, there is the possibility of ice jamming in the lower Sydenham River which could lead to some minor flooding.

Meantime, the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is also reporting decreasing water levels in small watercourses, however, ice jamming between Thamesville and Chatham will keep downstream water levels high in the Thames River.

Officials with both authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.
