Top NHL Prospect Faces Expectations

Erie Otters centre Connor McDavid says there's a lot of expectations being the projected number one pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

McDavid and his team were in Windsor on Thursday and defeated the Spitfires 7-4 at the WFCU Centre. It was Windsor's final regular season home game after being eliminated from playoff contention.

McDavid was on hand after the game and says it can be hard to break through the extra attention he receives on the ice.

"I think there's a lot of expectations on me, and it's just what I'm supposed to do. That's what people expect," he says. "But by no means is that a given. There's a lot of stuff that has to go right and a lot of hard work that has to be done."

The 18-year-old says it's a long road to the NHL and there is still a long way to go.
