Historically Low Residential Listings

The Chatham-Kent Real Estate Association is encouraging residents to list their property now, if they're thinking about selling.

With mortgage rates at 2.79%, Association President Jamie Winkler says the market's been more active than usual through January and February, but listings are lower than they've been in 26 years. "By getting in now, you won't be competing against as many homes similar to yours. And the buyers are out there."

Winkler says there were just 118 new listings in February, which is down a whopping 22.9% from February 2014.

There were 488 total residential listings last month. That's down 6.5% from a year ago.
