Looking To Avoid Blight

Lakeshore residents are already calling the empty building, meant to house CEN Biotech, an eyesore.

Just days after the announcement that the company's medical marijuana license was rejected, Mayor Tom Bain says he started getting phone calls.

He explains that the town will be looking at different options for the property on Manning Rd. at North Rear Rd. "The building was constructed properly under the building code, it was constructed as a warehouse-type building, it's there legally, and as far as the high fencing and stuff, we'll have to look at that."

Bain says it's unfortunate that new regulations for medical marijuana facilities came into place right before they built the structure, that's why the property has more of a prison-look.
