Senior Charged With Shoplifting

A 74-year-old woman is facing charges after a shoplifting complaint at the Chatham Walmart.

Police were called to the store on St.Clair St. shortly after 1pm yesterday. Store officials say the woman concealed various items and left without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise.

The value of the merchandise was approximately $58.

The senior citizen, who's a Chatham resident, is charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. She was released with a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
