Stand-Off Near Dresden Ends

Chatham-Kent police say a Dresden man has been taken into custody without incident after a stand-off just outside the town.

Police say officers went to a home to arrest a man at around 8pm last night, but he was uncooperative and refused to surrender. The OPP Tactical Response Unit was called in to assist CKPS officers from the drugs and intelligence, community patrol and CIRT units.

The 69-year-old surrendered to police just before 11am, and is charged with one count of uttering threats.

Irish School Rd. (Hwy. 21) is now open again between McCreary Line and Kent Line.
