Freezing Rain Possible Overnight

Drivers could be in for a messy commute Tuesday morning with freezing rain and wet snow expected to hit southwestern Ontario tonight.

Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says Environment Canada is tracking a system that's moving in from the prairies.

"There is a concern as temperatures drop to around the freezing mark by early morning that we could have a risk of some freezing rain with this system as well," says Coulson. "The highest chance of freezing rain at this point seems to be somewhere around 4am and 8am."

Coulson says some snow could also accumulate on the ground before the temperature starts to warm up throughout the morning.
