Newbury ER Drawing CK Residents

The Four Counties Hospital in Newbury continues to see a steady stream of Chatham-Kent residents in its emergency room.

Site Director Steph Ouellet suspects at lot of it has to do with the hospital's location.

"We have a lot of patients from the eastern border of Kent County that would come to us no matter what restrictions or wait times would be at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance," says Ouellet, who adds they consistently see Chatham-Kent residents at the Newbury site. "There doesn't seem to be any statistical blip showing that there's been an increase proportional to our emerg (sic) visits from Chatham-Kent."

Ouellet says during the last 3 months of 2014, 883 of the 2,226 patients who went to the ER in Newbury were from Chatham-Kent.
