Surprising Court Security Confiscations

A number of concerning items have crossed the path of local Court Security Officers in the past year.

Everything from pieces of lawn mower blade, X-Acto knives, syringes, cap guns, lighters that resemble small caliber handguns and even beer has been seized at Lambton County Court House in Sarnia.

Sarnia Police Constable John Sottosanti says the public needs to use some common sense for safety reasons before entering the building.

Sottosanti says whenever possible, security personnel allow people to return items to their vehicles, but on busy days they're confiscated so entry into the courthouse isn't slowed down.

Photo's included in this story represent approximately 10 per cent of the items found that were prohibited.
