A Specialized OPP Unit Expands

The OPP's mental health unit has expanded to Leamington.

The specialized team is available 24 hours a day to help with situations involving people suffering from mental health issues.

Inspector Glenn Miller says it's the response team's second location. "It will be a mirror to our mental health response team. It will be able to meet the requirements in this specific locale, as well as support our other detachments in Essex County."

More information will be released about the unit when it is officially unveiled later this month.
