Plans For Hockeyville Money

Intentions for the $100,000 Hockeyville winnings might already be set in stone.

Municipal officials say they identified a new sound system and in-arena signage as priority upgrades to Chatham Memorial Arena when endorsing their bid. It was part of an application process they submitted to the sponsors of the contest.

CAO Don Shropshire says that agreement has to be honoured. "We had to make a commitment up front, it had to go into this facility, and I think we're really happy about that."

A report on the allocation is coming in the next few months. Chatham-Kent earned the money after being named runner up in the Kraft Hockeyville contest, losing to North Saanich, BC.
