Charges After Running From Police

Fleeing Chatham-Kent OPP has landed one man with numerous charges.

Police say an officer attempted to stop an Acura for speeding on Hwy. 401 eastbound near Victoria Rd. just after 9am on Saturday, April 4.

The driver didn't stop and took off, accelerating up to speeds of 200 km/h while driving in an erratic manner before eventually pulling over on his own near Orford Rd.

A 32-year-old from Hamilton has been charged with dangerous driving, fleeing from police, and racing. He will appear in a Chatham court on May 15 to answer to the charges.
