OPP says the truck involved lost control and rolled onto its side on the highway near Essex County Rd. 42.
The driver has been taken to hospital as a precaution. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
The eastbound 401 at County Rd 42 is now open in both directions. However the on-ramp remains closed.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
