Maple Syrup Festival Today

The maple syrup production season may be over, but the time to sample the product is here.

Community organizer in Shrewsbury Ken Bell says the third annual syrup festival is today at the community centre on New Scotland Line.

It's been a very successful event it's the only maple syrup festival in Chatham-Kent, and we welcome people from all over," he says, noting a pancake breakfast is served from 8am to noon. "We offer tours all morning from 9am to about 2pm in the afternoon, and show people how the sap is tapped and talk a little bit about the forest."

People taking part will have the chance to tour Don Giffen's maple syrup production system.
