Early Child Care Funding

Early child care workers in the area will benefit from funding courtesy of the Ministry of Education.

Chatham-Kent is receiving $55,617 to put towards wage increases for child care workers.

Child care workers could see benefits increase by up to 17.5%. Licensed home child care providers could also see a daily increase of up to $10.

It's part of the Home Child Care Enhancement Grant Funding put forth by the ministry. Chatham-Kent Council will hear more about the one-time funding tonight.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
