Impaired Charge After Accident

A Chatham Township man faces a number of charges including impaired driving after police were called about a hit-and-run accident.

It happened yesterday morning about 5am when a truck hit a hydro pole on Grande River Line and continued from the scene.

A witness contacted police and told them the truck had significant damage. Police located the truck a short time later at Pain Court Line and Bear Line and took him for a breath test.

Aside from impaired driving, the man is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
