COOL-FM Hits Windsor And Chatham

Blackburn Radio Inc. is introducing a new radio station for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

On Thursday, COOL-FM comes to 100.7FM in Windsor and 95.1FM in Chatham. The station will play music from the 80s, 90s and today, with artists such as Bon Jovi, Queen, INXS, Pink, John Mellencamp, Def Leppard, Fleetwood Mac, Maroon 5 and more.

COOL-FM's new Program Director Jay Stevens says extensive research in the market showed a change was needed for CKUE-FM.

"I'm extremely proud to return to my roots and help a wonderful team bring a cool new brand to the Windsor and Chatham markets," he says. "By playing it all, we'll be many things to many people, but the one constant is that we'll definitely be cool."

The station will be geared towards "a more middle-aged adult" and an "adult that is on the go, active and looking for fun."

COOL-FM will launch at 10am with a "cool bunch of songs" that will run commercial free.
